Family-focused since 1946
Tri-Village Nursery School (TVN) is a cooperative, non-discriminatory, secular, non-profit school. We are located at 428 Kenwood Avenue in Delmar in the First United Methodist Church. We offer classes for three- and four-year-olds.
A parent-led cooperative
TVN is governed by a parent-led board. The board works closely with TVN's teachers and the education director. Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a part of next year's TVN board.

Creating a love of learning
Tri-Village Nursery School offers children a variety of opportunities, experiences, and programs that help them develop an early love of learning. As a cooperative pre-school, we also provide a meaningful role for parents in the educational process. We celebrate individual differences and realize that self-esteem and self-confidence are essential for growth and learning. As a community, we are committed to active, reflective, creative learning. Our activities are child-centered. We believe a child's growth and development are supported when the school environment is supportive, nurturing, and non-threatening.
Volunteer as much as you're able
As a cooperative pre-school, we provide opportunities for parents and other family members to volunteer in the classroom. The typical volunteer commitment is approximately one "classroom helper" date per month. The classroom helper shift can be covered by a parent, grandparent, other family member, or even a nanny or babysitter. Families enrolled through our cooperative program are also asked to serve on one of Tri-Village's many volunteer committees to help the school with fundraising and other administrative tasks.
We recognize, however, that not all families have the ability to volunteer. For families that desire the benefits of a cooperative pre-school but do not have the ability to take on volunteer responsibilities, there is the traditional pre-school option. Families that enroll through our traditional program are not scheduled for classroom helper shifts or committee work. (That said, these families may certainly choose to serve occasional classroom helper shifts, like coming in for a child's birthday.) Families choosing the cooperative option receive a 12-18% discount on tuition. For more information, please contact us.

Big, bright classrooms with creative learning centers
All classrooms have large windows providing plenty of natural light. Each area of the room is designed to capture the student's curiosity through play and experimentation. Classes are led by a teacher who team teaches with an assistant. Classes are also generally assisted by a parent helper, providing an excellent teacher/student ratio. Our three-year-old classes are designed to accommodate 14 students apiece. There are 16 students in each of our four-year-old classes. See our pictures of our classrooms!
